Atlanta’s Bobby Cox tied Sparky Anderson for fourth place in career managerial victories when the Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1 on Friday night, Cox’s 2,194th victory in the majors. Cox has a 2,194-1,698 record in 26 seasons with the Braves and Toronto Blue Jays, whom he managed from 1982-85 between stints with the Braves that began in 1978.
